Ice Dams

An ice dam is a build up of snow and ice at the edge of your roof, that prevents melting snow (water) from draining off properly. It is usually caused by a combination of poor attic ventilation, and poor attic insulation.

At VentMASTER we make sure your ventilation and insulation work together to prevent ice dams and the damage they can cause to walls, ceilings, insulation, and other areas of the home.

Unvented

Unvented
Unvented: Ice Dams, besides being unsightly, are destructive. Unvented: Heat entering attic from the home melts the snow on the roof and forms destructive ice dams.

Vented

Vented
Vented: Vented attic with snow melting evenly is much more desirable. Vented: Excess heat is vented out the attic.

Improving your attic ventilation and insulation will reduce your heating bills in winter and cooling costs in summer.
